On Saturady 12th November, Keele University Concert Band and The Phoenix Singers will be performing the UK premiere of Missa Katharina by Jacob de Haan. The performance is taking place at Keele University chapel at 19:30.
Missa Katharina is a mass for choir, soprano and concert band. It was written in 2006 as part of a composition prize, and premiered on 21st October in the Basilica of Ottobeuren in Germany.
Jacob de haan was born in 1959 in the Netherlands. He is one of the most popular and most played modern wind band composers, and along with his publisher De Haske Music, he has brought a vairety of composed and arranged works to the wind band world. Missa Katharina is the second mass to have been composed by Jacob, the first being Missa Brevis in 2002.
This will be a monumnetal occasion, and I'd like your support in letting the UK know about this concert. The composer is already aware of this performance and has linked the concert to the Missa Katharina facebook page.
