Archbishop Beck Catholic College Music program has experienced great success over many years. And 2011 has been no exception and culminated in a special visit to the College by an Australian High school Symphonic Band.
At the beginning of December the College welcomed the Camberwell High School Symphonic Band, from Melbourne Australia. They presented a combined concert in the College sports hall, but before that they were treated to a local dish, appropriately called "scouse" when both groups had a musician's tea.
Director of Music Bruce Hicks at Archbishop Beck, (himself an Australian), spoke highly of the event and of the very entertaining and rewarding time both groups had together. The players then joined together to play an item en masse - with well over 80 players performing a Merseyside Anthem "You will never walk alone", led by members of the College Chamber Choir. A truly outstanding evening of Music
