THE CENTRAL BAND OF THE ROYAL AIR FORCE
Conducted by Wing Commander Duncan Stubbs
We are delighted to welcome the Central Band of the Royal Air Force under the direction of Wing Commander Duncan Stubbs as they present a programme of contemporary music for wind. The Central Band have long been considered one of the world's great wind ensembles and the university are proud in the knowledge that membership of the band includes Salford music graduates.
We are also delighted that the Salford Music and Performing Arts Service Wind Band, together with our own University Wind Band will be featured in a massed item. A highlight of the afternoon will be the performance of entries from the three finalists in the Salford-BASBWE Wind Band Composers Competition. The winning composition will be announced at the conclusion of the concert.
