SOUNDS OF SPITALFIELDS - will be the first project in the capital by Australian sonic arts company SUPER CRITICAL MASS (SCM) who have built an international following for their site-specific immersive performances by massed ranks of individual instruments in public spaces such as Central Park, New York City. Their approach is simple - there's no conductor, scores or stands - just an ingenious, simple algorithm that allows performers of all backgrounds, ages and skill levels to memorize music, and create work of depth and nuance that resonates with the architecture of the performance site.
