This is to announce a brand new wind orchestra
NOW PREMIERE WINDS
We meet 3rd Sunday in the month from 6pm - 9pm at The Kairos Centre, Grange Park, Northampton, NN4 5DW just off Jn15 M1. We are looking for more players to join our Grade 8 plus wind orchestra: at present we have about 30 players. Next rehearsal for PREMIERE WINDS is 17th June.
We started 20th May and began (after a warm up) with Gallimaufry by Guy Woolfenden. To my surprise many had not even heard of the piece before. We then played Masque (Hesketh), and West Side Story (Bernstein/Polster).
Next time we want to look at Derek Bourgeois' Sinfonietta, Ellerby's Symphony for winds and Adam Gorb's Adrenaline City.
We have players from as far afield as London, Peterborough, and Birmingham.
It only costs ?1 for each 3 hour session and you get a free cup of tea!
